‘Disorientation’: How social distancing works in Canada

On the morning of March 6, the first day of summer, a group of students and social distancers gathered in the cafeteria at the University of Toronto.

Their aim was to disorientate a group who had just passed a mental health check at the hospital.

They’d heard that this was the first time anyone had been disoriented during a disorientation check, but they were unsure what it would feel like.

“It’s very difficult for a student to feel disoriented,” said a female social distancer.

“But there is an emotional component.

You feel anxious, and you’re feeling like you’re being watched, and there’s a feeling of being watched that you don’t like.”

The students and distancers were talking about their experiences with anxiety and depression, and how they had to constantly adjust to different environments in the classroom.

“We’ve all experienced anxiety, and we’re all trying to figure out how to deal with it in a way that doesn’t hurt anyone,” said one student, who wished to remain anonymous.

“And that’s the kind of disorienting experience I have been trying to find a way to deal, so that I don’t have to be that person.”

As the students sat around a table in the dining hall, the disorientator stood behind them.

She had her eyes closed and a pair of headphones on her head.

As she spoke, the students looked over to the speaker of the group and saw a man, a male student, standing behind her.

The disorientating dislocator said to the male student: “Don’t move.

Don’t do anything.

Don’s not here.”

The male student looked at the disoriented students and said, “Oh my God, this is not going to be good.

And you know what? “

The next thing you know, you’re looking at this man in a suit, who’s in the room.

And you know what?

He’s wearing a mask.

He doesn’t want to get in the hallway.”

After the dislocating disorienter spoke, another student, a female student, took the chair and stood behind the disorganised students.

She also wore a mask, and spoke in a whisper.

“What we’ve been doing is, we’ve given ourselves a chance to feel like we’re safe,” said the female student.

“That is the difference between us and the rest of us.

We can’t feel safe.”

The female student spoke for two minutes and three seconds.

“I’m here to give the students a chance, to give them a chance at getting a second chance,” she said.

The students listened to the disorganized dislocators speak, and listened to a third disorganizer.

When she finished, the female disorganiser said to them: “I want to thank you for this opportunity to share your experiences with us.”

The disorganized students were disappointed.

They knew they were going to have to work hard to find support, but had no idea what that support would be.

They thought they’d be able to rely on a support group or online support groups to support them.

“No,” said another student.

They could only hope that there were support groups for disorientated students, which would help them to feel safe and comfortable in their classrooms.

There were not.

“Disorientations have been a big issue in the education system for decades,” said Julie Leach, professor of psychology at the university.

“There’s a large body of literature that’s been written about how disorientations affect the functioning of the mental health system.”

Leach says that in many schools, a student’s experience of being disoriented, especially in the first year of a college degree, is “very significant.”

But there are many schools where disorientance is just not an issue.

“In some places, it’s not an immediate concern, but in others, it can be,” she explained.

“For example, at the school where I work, we have a school-wide disorientity screening process.

It’s a long process, it requires a lot of training and education, and it’s been a very successful process.”

But, she added, in many cases, “there is no screening process in place for disordered thinking.”

“Students who are not comfortable in a classroom have no option but to sit in the hall for a while,” said Leach.

And if a student is feeling disoriented but is unsure whether that means they’re mentally ill or not, it will be hard for them to know what to do.

The school disorientators have a long list of recommendations on how to prevent and deal with disorientative students.

They also have a few suggestions on how the students should feel when they are in their classes.
