How to get your social sharing app out of the way and into the social feed
Social media is a great place to share content, but what happens when you share something that doesn’t really belong there?
This post explores how to get the content to stay on your social feed, but not necessarily on your personal account.1.
Get the content on your own account.
You don’t need to share it to your friends or family, but it’s a good idea to share the article in the first place.2.
Create a group.
If you don’t have a group to share your content with, you can invite others to join.3.
Check your privacy settings.
You can set your account privacy settings to allow the sharing of your content, or to prevent people from viewing it.4.
Ask your friends to check out the article.
Once you’ve done that, invite people to check it out on their own accounts.5.
Make sure your friends are in the loop.
Once they have checked out the content, invite them to follow your friends who are already sharing it.6.
Let your followers know that you’re seeing the article on their feed.
As your followers can see the article, they can also share it with their followers.7.
If they’re not seeing the page, ask your friends if they want to see it.
You’ll need to ask them before they share it, so they know you’re not making a big deal out of it.8.
Make a note of the time you shared it.
This is the best time to share something because it lets people know you shared the article with them.9.
Share the article and let your followers follow along.
You won’t be able to follow along directly with your followers, but your friends can.10.
Add your own links.
Share links to your own content to keep the page on your account, and link to your content to link to it from the article or post.11.
Make your own blog posts, write up a follow-up piece, or write a short story to add to your articles.12.
Share your links and comments on your friends’ feed, even if they’re private.13.
Let others know you were the first to share a link to a piece of content.
You’re likely to get a lot of people following your post and sharing the article anyway.14.
Don’t forget to add the article to your personal feed.
This will let your friends and family know you saw the article before they saw it on your feed.15.
Share any additional links to the article you’ve shared on your friend’s feed.16.
If the article doesn’t go viral, and people don’t follow you, you’re done.
The article should be deleted.
If you’ve already shared something on your profile, let others know about it by adding it to a group on your network, by letting them follow you on Facebook or Instagram, or by tweeting it.
