What is Social Distancing?
Social Distance Definition: Social distance refers to the distance between a person and the person they are related to.
This is a psychological phenomenon that occurs when we feel distance from others and our relationship to them is less than ideal.
For example, when someone is close to you, it is possible to feel distance when you are at a restaurant or at a party, but you cannot feel distance in front of your computer screen or in front, say, of your kids.
Social Distances are measured in feet or meters.
In most people, social distance is defined as about 1-5 meters.
This definition is used by psychologists to measure social distances in society and to define social distance in relation to distance from other people.
For instance, when you say you have no friends, your social distance might be 1-3 meters.
You might also define it in terms of how much distance you are willing to travel to see someone or how many friends you have.
Social Distance can vary depending on the person and how close you are to them.
