When the hockey world’s on edge: How social distance works and why it’s important
When the NHL season began, the social media conversation around social distanced hockey would be more nuanced than ever.
As of this writing, the NHL has yet to announce any plans for new rules for social distances.
But it’s clear that the social distancer has a role to play in helping to keep the ice surface clean.
And in the meantime, we’ll continue to look to social distancers for the advice on how to manage our social media interactions.
“We have to keep playing with the rules and the practices of what’s appropriate for hockey and the players to do and to maintain the ice as clean as possible,” said Patrick Lalime, the executive director of the Hockey Writers Association of America.
“The rules, the practice, the game.
You have to play by those rules.
That’s really what we’re going to focus on.”
