When Trump said the ‘f***ing’ news media, he said it himself
Posted June 11, 2020 06:31:28President Donald Trump used the term “f***” on Twitter Thursday, but he was just repeating an oft-repeated one.
During a campaign rally in Alabama on Tuesday, Trump used an uncharacteristic, off-the-cuff remark about reporters.
Trump’s campaign had issued a correction, saying that he meant that they should not be so sensitive to him, a fact that his campaign quickly disputed.
Trump is known for his fiery, combative style.
In the 2016 campaign, Trump was widely accused of calling out reporters for their coverage of him, and he was widely criticized for making the same remarks about reporters during a rally in South Carolina last September.
On Thursday, Trump appeared to take aim at the media in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
He was asked if he was offended by the use of the word “f**k,” and he replied that “the f***ing news media.”
“You know, the f***in’ press, you know, they’re all f***ins.
They’re all dishonest,” Trump said.
the f**king press, they f***, they don’t care.
They’ll never care.
That’s the f—in’ truth.
They can f*** off.
You know, I mean, they can f**k off.””
That’s what I’m saying,” Trump continued.
“You have to go f*** the f—— press, and you know what I mean?
You have to f*** them.”
Trump also suggested that the media has “f****** become like the s**t-sack.”
“And the f******* s**ts, the s***t-bags, the scum, the liars,” he said.
“You can f—— go, f—— f—— up the f—– press, but they f—— never f—— stop.
They never stop, they just keep going.
So they f—– always keep going, but the f——- are just so dishonest.
You f—— can f—– f—— them.”
On Wednesday, Trump’s communications director Hope Hicks tweeted a link to a CNN story that highlighted the comments from Trump, which she later deleted.
In the tweet, Hicks wrote, “I never said f—— the press.
I said press the f–k out.”
The statement was retweeted nearly 6,000 times.
Hicks did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Trump has used the word on social media before.
In July, he tweeted that “some f—ing f—ers” have “f—— f—ed up the press,” but that he was referring to reporters and reporters’ coverage of Trump.
“And that’s what we’ve been talking about all along,” Trump told Fox News in a video of that July interview.
“We’ve been f—— talking about it.
And I said f— the press.”
