Which NHL player will be on your team’s future roster?
The Washington Capitals are on track to make a roster move this offseason.
They will reportedly make a major trade to add a goaltender.
It is a trade that will undoubtedly be made at the deadline.
The Capitals are likely to send a prospect, likely to be an AHL player, along with a prospect or two to a team in the middle of the NHL draft.
It will likely take several days for the trade to be finalized.
Washington is expected to be interested in trading for a goaltender in the early to mid-2020s.
The Capitals are expected to move for goaltender Frederik Andersen to help shore up the goaltending situation, according to Dan Rosen of the Washington Post.
That is likely to mean the Capitals would like to acquire a veteran goaltender, as well as possibly a prospect.
The Washington Senators and Florida Panthers are also known to be in talks with Andersen, according the Post.
If the Capitals do make a trade for a goalie, it would be a major change for the team.
They were able to move out of the first round with the addition of Alex Ovechkin, and they had a great run to the Stanley Cup Final.
Now, they will have to look to fill their goaltending void.
If the Capitals want to move forward with this season, they need to find a goaltender that can step up and provide a steady hand for the future of the team, especially if the Caps are hoping to add another veteran goaltender this offseason as well.
